AMD announced new prices for their Radeon HD 3850 512MB and HD 3870. Starting from the USA tonight, e-tailer prices for the HD 3870 should drop 23% from $245 to $189; while that of HD 3850 should drop 15% from $199 to $169.

Now, it seems like the discounted HD3870 got a better price/performance ratio than nVidia's 8800GT. High-end crossfire is more afforable than ever. And it (HD3850) also makes the introduction of 9600GT into the market much more difficult. I can see a lot of people waiting for AMD to do the same for their top-of-the-line HD3870X2.
